Report Cards/Progress Reports

Report Card

Report cards will be distributed quarterly, and the format is below.  Each report card is produced in duplicate because parents are required to sign and return one copy to the student’s homeroom teacher.  Detention will be given to those who do not return the signed copies of the first, second, and third report cards by a specific date.  The end-of-year report card is mailed to the student’s home.

Format of the report card:

1st Report Card

2nd Report Card

3rd Report Card

4th Report Card

1st Quarter Avg.

  • 1st and 2nd Quarter Avg.
  • Mid Year Exam (MYE)
  • Semester 1 Avg. (Q1, Q2, and MYE)

  • 1st and 2nd Quarter Avg.
  • MYE Grade
  • Semester 1 Avg.
  • 3rd Quarter Avg.
  • 1st and 2nd Quarter Avg.
  • MYE
  • Semester 1 Avg.
  • 3rd and 4th Quarter Avg.
  • Final Exam (FE)
  • Semester 2 Avg.
  • Yearly Semester Avg.
  • Yearly/Unweighted and Weighted GPA
  • Cumulative/Weighted and Unweighted GPA

Each quarter is an unweighted average of all quarter grades.

The Semester 1, Semester 2, and Final Averages are an unweighted average counting each Quarter twice and each exam only once.  For example, Jane got the following grades in her math class:

Q1 95, Q2 85, MYE 85, Q3 90, Q4 84, FE 75

The formulas to get her grades would be:

(95 + 85) 2 + 85 / 5 = 89 (Jane’s Semester 1 grade)

(95 + 85) 2 + 85 + (90 + 84) 2 + 75 / 10 = 86.8 (Jane’s final grade is an 87).

Progress Reports

At approximately the midpoint in each quarter, a progress report indicating any area in which the student’s work is considered unsatisfactory will be mailed to the student’s home.   At the teacher’s option, informal reports may be sent at any time noting either unusual improvement or deterioration in the quality of a student’s work.  Progress reports are to be signed by parents and returned to the student’s homeroom teacher.  Detention will be issued to students that do not return signed progress reports.  Failing grades are not limited to those students who receive progress reports.

Parents wishing to discuss their daughter’s progress with a faculty member should call or email the teacher to arrange an appointment.  Faculty telephone extensions and email addresses can be found on this website on the AHA page, Admin/Faculty and Staff Directory.
