AHA Bowlers Score 250th Win for Coach Dunne

Demarest, NJ: Coach Patrick Dunne and his bowling team from the Academy of the Holy Angels are reveling in a milestone victory. The Angels’ latest win over Immaculate Heart Academy was number 250 for Dunne.

The Angels prepared in advance so they could present their coach with a commemorative plaque and a celebratory poster after they knocked down the winning pins.

Dunne is pictured with (standing L-R): Leah Sanchez of Upper Saddle River, Brianna Figueroa and Donatella Leon of Cliffside Park, Isabelle Egan of Oradell, Molly Brooks of Bardonia (NY), and Sophia Boudakian of Alpine. In the front row are Sarah Folk of Old Tappan, Co-captain Amelia Brunda of Paramus, Baylee-Rose Cooper of Saddle Brook, and Co-captain Brandi Glaser of Old Tappan.
Earlier this year, Dunne’s bowlers earned a second consecutive Bergen County title. Coach Dunne praises the Angels’ solid work ethic, their belief in each other, and their “team first” attitude.

Those who know Dunne readily see the connection between the Angels’ successful, positive outlook and the example set by their leader.

The AHA Bowling Team has been in existence for two decades. Dunne is the only coach the team has had. The Angels were Bergen County champions in 2014 and have earned numerous division and state sectional titles.

Founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1879, the Academy of the Holy Angels is the oldest private girls’ school in Bergen County. While AHA is steeped in Catholic tradition, this prestigious high school serves young women from a broad spectrum of cultural and religious backgrounds. Over time, thousands of women have passed through AHA’s portals. Many go on to study at some of the nation’s best universities, earning high-ranking positions in medicine, government, law, education, public service, business, arts, and athletics. The Academy’s current leaders continue to further the SSND mission to provide each student with the tools she needs to reach the fullness of her potential—spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically, by offering a first-rate education in a nurturing environment where equal importance is placed on academic excellence, character development, moral integrity, and service to others.
