AHA Creative Writing Class
Holds Reading at Barnes and Noble
May 2014
Students in Mrs. Nancy Schneberger’s Creative Writing Class from the Academy of the Holy Angels recently shared some of their original poetry and prose at a reading held at Barnes & Noble Bookstore in Paramus. The class, which is a semester elective for juniors and seniors, invites students to explore a wide variety of poetical genres and techniques using select models and writing prompts. In her introductory remarks, Mrs. Schneberger noted that “creative self expression is an essential component of educating the whole person and an integral part of AHA’s philosophy.” She added that for some students this was their first opportunity to speak publicly, which is another skill AHA challenges all of its students to develop.
