AHA Presents "The Drowsy Chaperone"
February, 2015
The Academy of the Holy Angels is pleased to present its production of The Drowsy Chaperone. Performances will take place at the school’s Demarest campus on Friday March 13th and Saturday March 14th at 7:30pm and on Sunday March 15th at 2:00pm. This Tony Award winning musical ran on Broadway from May 2006 until December 2007. Often described as “a play within a play,” The Drowsy Chaperone brings to life the glory of 1920’s musical comedy. The story is told from the perspective of its main character, known simply as “Man in Chair,” a reclusive and somewhat cynical theatre enthusiast, who reminisces about the past by playing the record from his favorite musical, The Drowsy Chaperone. Starring from AHA are: Heather Mueger (Harrington Park), Sofia Carvajal (Haworth) and Ariela Pizza (Franklin Lakes) who are supported by many talented cast members. Students from St. Joseph’s Regional High School: Nick Berninger, Ryan Doran and Daniel Rodriguez and Riverdell High School’s Trey Plutniki round out the cast. AHA’s Amanda Binetti (New Milford) and Gianna Scardigno (Palisades Park) are Assistant Directors to AHA Theatre teacher, Miss Katie McSherry who directs this production.
