Early Acceptances Pouring in for AHA Students; Scholarship Tally Rising Daily

Demarest, NJ: The new year has brought a wave of welcome news for the Class of 2019 at the Academy of the Holy Angels. To date, 71% of the seniors have already received early acceptances to over 100 colleges and universities.

In addition to earning admission to their first-choice schools, the class has earned an aggregate of $7.5 million in scholarships in recognition of their outstanding achievements in athletics, academics, and service to others.

This is just the beginning. As of this writing, the acceptance and scholarship figures remain in flux, as congratulatory messages and news of additional financial grants continue to pour in every day.

“Early acceptance to students’ top choice schools is nothing new at Holy Angels! Our students have been achieving top acceptance rates and scholarship dollars for many years,” AHA Principal Jean Miller noted. “Our college counselors provide excellent guidance, service, and resources that families elsewhere pay thousands for. This is one of the many reasons families choose to invest in their daughters’ futures at Holy Angels. First Step AHA--Next Step College!”

Students from Holy Angels are consistently accepted to the country’s finest institutions of higher learning, a tradition that has continued for nearly 140 years.

Founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1879, the Academy of the Holy Angels is the oldest private girls’ school in Bergen County. While AHA is steeped in Catholic tradition, this prestigious high school serves young women from a broad spectrum of cultural and religious backgrounds. Over time, thousands of women have passed through AHA’s portals. Many go on to study at some of the nation’s best universities, earning high-ranking positions in medicine, government, law, education, public service, business, arts, and athletics. The Academy’s current leaders continue to further the SSND mission to provide each student with the tools she needs to reach the fullness of her potential—spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically, by offering a first-rate education in a nurturing environment where equal importance is placed on academic excellence, character development, moral integrity, and service to others.
