Inaugural Business Honor Society Inductions Held at AHA

Demarest, NJ: Several members of the Class of 2019 made their mark on Holy Angels’ history on April 10, 2019, when they became the Academy’s first inductees to the National Business Honor Society. Inaugural NBHS members include Nicolette Angelotti of Franklin Lakes, Catherine Bagin of Glen Ridge, Madison Donohue of Harrington Park, Jacklyn Kelly of Norwood, Izabella King of Demarest, Madison Mancha of Secaucus, and Sophia Nedelkoff of Ramsey.

AHA Principal Jean Miller is a firm believer in the importance of providing young women with access to courses in economics and financial management, and highly recommends AHA’s Angels School of Business.

The Angels School of Business allows business savvy students to earn a “mini-MBA” at graduation. Prerequisites include an internship through Angels Advantage, AHA’s alumnae-led mentoring program; completion of five business related academic courses, such as financial management, statistics, economics, and international studies; and participation in a relevant extracurricular activity, including Distributive Education Clubs of America or Angels in Business, AHA’s stock market club.

During the 2018-19 academic year, their first year of participation in DECA, AHA students reached the state-level competition. DECA welcomes students from the United States and Canada who have an interest in business, marketing, management, and entrepreneurship.

Founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1879, the Academy of the Holy Angels is the oldest private girls’ school in Bergen County. While AHA is steeped in Catholic tradition, this prestigious high school serves young women from a broad spectrum of cultural and religious backgrounds. Over time, thousands of women have passed through AHA’s portals. Many go on to study at some of the nation’s best universities, earning high-ranking positions in medicine, government, law, education, public service, business, arts, and athletics. The Academy’s current leaders continue to further the SSND mission to provide each student with the tools she needs to reach the fullness of her potential—spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically, by offering a first-rate education in a nurturing environment where equal importance is placed on academic excellence, character development, moral integrity, and service to others.
