Noel Coward's 'Blithe Spirit' to Be Presented at AHA

Demarest, NJ: Talented thespians from the Academy of the Holy Angels and Saint Joseph’s Regional High School have teamed up to bring Noël Coward’s full-length farce, “Blithe Spirit,” to the AHA stage. This AHA production will be presented on Friday, November 11th at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, November 12th at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 13 at 2 p.m. The Academy is located at 315 Hillside Avenue in Demarest.

“’Blithe Spirit’ is a small show, which we have double-cast in order to provide more acting opportunities for our students,” said Director Katie McSherry.

McSherry announced that the cast members include Alex Birchwale of SJR as Charles Condomine, Ariela Pizza and Rianna LeHane as Ruth Condomine, Sofia Urquiola and Grace Diaz as Elvira, Sean Moran of SJR as Dr. Bradman, Molly Murphy as Mrs. Bradman, Jenna Cooperman and Gabrielle Layne as Madame Arcati, and Jessica Boccassini and Jaden Urso as Edith.

This comedy is set in motion when novelist Charles Condomine invites Madame Arcati, a psychic medium, to hold a séance in his home as part of his research for a new book. As fate would have it, Madame Arcati unwittingly calls up the spirit of Charles’ dear departed first wife, Elvira. Elvira, who can only be seen by Charles, sets about wreaking havoc as she tries to derail Charles’ relationship with his new wife, Ruth.

“Blithe Spirit” has been delighting audiences since it was first presented in England in 1941. The show later enjoyed success on Broadway, and has been revived numerous times. The AHA production is being presented by a special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

Tickets are $15 each and are now available at
