Open House: See How AHA Has Empowered Women for 140 Years

Demarest, NJ: Spend an evening at Holy Angels’ March 31st Open House and discover how this esteemed Catholic girls’ high school founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame has been empowering women leaders for 140 years. Prospective students and their families are welcome to arrive on campus, 315 Hillside Avenue in Demarest, at 6:00 p.m. The evening will include guided tours, demos, and more. Please visit https://www.holyangels.org/admissions/open-house to register.

AHA’s award-winning STREAM curriculum is recognized by Newsweek and the Archdiocese of Newark. STREAM, the next generation of STEM, includes religion and art so students develop a moral compass, and become creative, ethical problem solvers. AHA’s growth mindset learning environment encourages students to view obstacles as opportunities.

See why Holy Angels graduates:

  • Exemplify the SSND mission as they transform the world through their education.
  • Exhibit character, moral integrity, and a growth mindset.
  • Embrace respectful relationships with God, self, and all of creation.
  • Enthusiastically serve others by sharing their unique gifts.
  • Are empowered to reach the fullness of their potential and become the leaders our world needs most.

Angels learn and serve around the globe. Students enjoy a cooperative program with Englewood Health, and may take a tailor-made program at Oxford University. Students may earn high school and college credits simultaneously through AHA’s partnerships with Fairleigh Dickinson University and Notre Dame of Maryland University.

Because AHA’s foundresses have non-governmental organization status within the United Nations, Angels regularly observe UN-sponsored events. Recently, an AHA student’s poem was featured at the UN’s celebration of the International Day of the Girl.

Founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1879, the Academy of the Holy Angels is the oldest private girls’ school in Bergen County. While AHA is steeped in Catholic tradition, this prestigious high school serves young women from a broad spectrum of cultural and religious backgrounds. Over time, thousands of women have passed through AHA’s portals. Many go on to study at some of the nation’s best universities, earning high-ranking positions in medicine, government, law, education, public service, business, arts, and athletics. The Academy’s current leaders continue to further the SSND mission to provide each student with the tools she needs to reach the fullness of her potential—spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically, by offering a first-rate education in a nurturing environment where equal importance is placed on academic excellence, character development, moral integrity, and service to others.
