Popular Food Truck Festival Will Return to AHA

Demarest, NJ:Get ready for a spring afternoon packed with exceptional entertainment and crave-able confections, as the Fourth Annual Food Truck Festival rolls into Demarest on Sunday, April 22nd. Organized by Angels in the Arts, this popular annual event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on the grounds of the Academy of the Holy Angels at 315 Hillside Avenue.

Festival proceeds support arts programs at Holy Angels and scholarships for Academy graduates who pursue careers in the visual and performing arts.
This year, visitors will have an opportunity to treat themselves to edible specialties from Cannoli Café, CheeZen, Empanada Mania, Little Bite of Paradise, Ms. Fu’s Yummy Food Truck, PhillyFry, Polka Dot Cupcakes, and Waffles De Lys.

Attendees are encouraged to wander through the displays of stunning student art, and see why three of our Angels earned national medals in competition this year.

There will also be live performances by celebrated student vocalists, musicians, actors, and dancers – including the three-time national champion AHA Varsity Dance Team. Students from Academy-based groups and individuals from local schools and studios will share their talents.

Admission is $5 per person. Tickets will be available at the festival. Children under age seven will be admitted free of charge, but they must still have tickets to enter the festival.

AITA is a parent-run association whose members promote AHA’s many art-related events, including plays, concerts, and art shows. During the annual Arts Appreciation Dinner, AITA recognizes graduating seniors who have been involved in the arts, and presents the Angel Award, a scholarship that honors one graduate who has made outstanding contributions to the Academy’s arts programs. AITA also hosts many other events for AHA’s artists and performers.

Founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1879, the Academy of the Holy Angels is the oldest private girls’ school in Bergen County. While AHA is steeped in Catholic tradition, this prestigious high school serves young women from a broad spectrum of cultural and religious backgrounds. Over time, thousands of women have passed through AHA’s portals. Many go on to study at some of the nation’s best universities, earning high-ranking positions in medicine, government, law, education, public service, business, arts, and athletics. The Academy’s current leaders continue to further the SSND mission to provide each student with the tools she needs to reach the fullness of her potential—spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically, by offering a first-rate education in a nurturing environment where equal importance is placed on academic excellence, character development, moral integrity, and service to others.
