Social Studies Honor Society
Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society is the only national organization for high school juniors and seniors that recognizes excellence in the field of Social Studies. Any accredited public or private high school can apply for a local chapter, through which individuals will be inducted into Rho Kappa Honor Society. Rho Kappa provides national recognition and opportunities for exploration in the social studies. Through its sponsorship of Rho Kappa, NCSS hopes to encourage an interest in, understanding of, and appreciation for the social studies.
AHA received its charter to the Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society in 2012 and had our first installation of members in 2013. The AHA chapter is the Alice Paul Chapter. The name was chosen because of Alice Paul's tireless dedication to the passage of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote in 1919. The AHA members are peer tutors.
