AHA + STEM
“Quite simply, my science classes at Holy Angels captivated me. I was challenged to embrace the complexities of science in a way that always motivated me to learn. My teachers always encouraged me to ask questions and helped me to go beyond the textbook and see the ways that science surrounds our lives. I’ll never forget how I enjoyed taking my final exam in sophomore Chemistry, and that was when I knew I would pursue an education and career in chemistry.”
ADVICE FOR FUTURE ANGELS…
“The science and math programs at Holy Angels are excellent and advanced, such that they provide great preparation for college material. The opportunity to take multiple science and math classes speak volumes and some of my colleagues are still shocked to hear that I took Organic Chemistry in high school. By the time I graduated, I had taken four math and six science classes, and I learned material that has stuck with me to this day in graduate school. The teachers at AHA have a way of making the courses enjoyable, so that even if you are struggling with the material, you are motivated to learn it instead of being discouraged by the challenge. Beyond the material that is covered, the programs at AHA have a way of teaching you how to think broadly about the relevance and importance of math and science. I am so grateful that the education I received at Holy Angels put me on the right track to achieving my ultimate goal of studying chemistry at MIT!”
