AHA + STEM
“I very much enjoyed the science classes I took at AHA, particularly the biology and chemistry classes. I took as many advanced electives in those two areas as I was able to fit into my schedule junior and senior year: AP Biology, Anatomy & Physiology and AP Chemistry. By learning more about how research is conducted and how it contributes to science and to the broader community, I realized a career path that I had not considered before. This inspired me to try my hand at research during college and those experiences propelled me to graduate school, where I am currently pursuing a PhD.”
ADVICE FOR FUTURE ANGELS…
“The teachers in the science program at AHA are truly awesome. They are passionate about what they do and excited to convey their knowledge to students. You not only learn information, but understand how the pieces fit into broader concepts and how to interpret new information, which is a valuable skill. The labs are both interesting and great learning experiences. The science classes at AHA, particularly the higher level electives, give students a strong foundation to tackle a college science curriculum.”
