Meet Adriana '22

Adriana is tapping into the Academy’s award-winning STREAM curriculum. She reinforces her affinity for engineering through Anjoules, the up-and-coming JV robotics club she serves as co-captain. She is also active with the Society of Women Engineers, a group that encourages women to learn about opportunities within this exciting field. As a society member, Adriana is able to pursue projects and competitions, hear from guest speakers, and research college programs that best align with her interests.

In addition to her full course load, Adriana is involved in electives that allow her to fine-tune her knowledge of models, toolkits, robotics, and automation. She is also a member of the Black and Hispanic Cultural Society and AHA’s new Diversity Council. This Angel speaks both English and Spanish, and recently earned a silver medal for her accomplishments in the bilingual category of the national Spanish exam. In fact, her academic achievements have earned her a place on the Principal’s List, an honor reserved for students who attain a GPA of 95 or higher. Those who attend concerts at AHA have heard Adriana sing with the extraordinary AHA Chorus. She makes time for the Art Club and the Drama Crew, where she spins her talents into hair and makeup artistry for the Academy’s theater program. Beyond AHA, Adriana participates in summer swimming and tennis programs, is a member of a competitive dance team, and lends her skills to a recreational fencing team. True to AHA’s goal of serving the greater community, Adriana volunteers at a tristate area soup kitchen, where she packages, stores, and annotates the foods the kitchen provides to its patrons.
