Meet Angelina '20

Angelina is a scholar, athlete, dancer, leader, and community volunteer. She is head of construction for the AngelBots robotics club and co-captain of the AHA Debate Team. As a rising junior, she attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference. Her peers know her as a homeroom representative and as class president. This accomplished musician plays alto saxophone for the AHA Orchestra, and shares her talents at a local senior community. After Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, Angelina participated in a service trip to help rebuild the island. Angelina now belongs to several national honor societies, including Tri-M (music), Rho Kappa (social studies), the Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (math), and the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica. She won two bronze medals for her work on the national Spanish exam. She has taken multiple Advanced Placement courses, including physics, statistics, and history, and she maintains a sterling GPA that keeps her on the Honor Roll and Principal’s List.

She has been involved with Power Back, Model UN, and AHA Varsity Volleyball, where she earned Big North Conference Second Team All-Division honors. She played volleyball for DIGS, and is captain of the Pinnacle Volleyball Academy’s team. Angelina studies tap dancing at a studio, and regularly performs in public. Within her church, Angelina is a Eucharistic Minister, an altar server, and a Vacation Bible School and homeless shelter volunteer. Angelina recently completed a summer externship at a New York City research firm through Angels Advantage. She also attended Economics for Leaders at Washington University. Angelina is an Eleanor S. Lane Memorial Scholarship recipient. In addition to all of her activities, she works part-time at a local market.
