Covid-19 Updates

A Letter from the President:

Dear AHA Families,

First and most importantly, I hope this finds everyone well. As we continue to work, teach and learn remotely, I must take a moment to say how much I personally miss being on the school campus seeing my colleagues and our students. I look forward to the day when we will all return to school.

Today as I write to you, my overwhelming emotion is one of gratitude. I am grateful to our faculty who on very short notice adjusted their teaching methods, plans and schedules and seamlessly transitioned to online instruction. Each day, our students are participating in a full day of real-time instruction from 8AM to 2PM. I am in awe of our Angels, who have truly risen to the occasion, arriving on-time, fully prepared and engaged in their classes. I am so proud of all of you.

I would also like to thank all our employees who have adapted their departments to function remotely- Office of Academic and College Counseling, Registrar, Technology, Admissions, Advancement, Finance, Communications, Campus Mission and Ministry, Maintenance and Secretarial Staff. I congratulate all of you for your creativity, flexibility and perseverance. Our students and teachers would not be so successful if not for your support.

I am indebted to our administrative team- Jean Miller, Francesca Tambone-Puzio and Andrea Beyer- who have been working tirelessly with me to anticipate and respond to a myriad of challenges daily. They are truly servant leadership in action, working for the good of all our school community.

To you, our AHA families, thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these uncharted times. I hope to be able to communicate good news about the school calendar after the Easter break, but for now we will continue to comply with Governor Murphy’s mandate to remain closed.

In the meantime, remember that “Love is the bond that unites us.” We have all chosen Holy Angels because we believe in and value the transformative power of education. Yes, our daily destinations may have changed but our connection remains as strong as ever. As we continue our Lenten journey towards the promise of Easter, be assured of my prayers and in turn I ask for yours.

Blessings,

Melinda A. Hanlon , Ed.S
President
